Skull 27-23: The Suggested Bloom of an Eternal Morning

With "Skull 27-23," I did not want to sculpt a realistic flower, but rather the very idea of life reclaiming its rights. Here, the rose is suggested: it emerges from the skull structure in the form of a metal movement, an organic abstraction rising toward the light. It is an allegory of rebirth where death has no hold on the vital impulse that has just been born, illuminated by the dew of a dawning morning materialized by drops of bronze.

The contrast is striking between the solid base of the skull in steel lace and this ascending, fluid, and poetic form that evokes the fragility of a petal without ever freezing it in descriptive realism. The bronze, applied by fusion, brings this solar warmth and these wet reflections that recall the freshness of dawn. It is a piece from the Intimate range that celebrates the strength of the present moment and the alchemists' "Carpe Diem," where raw material fades before the power of suggestion.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose to only suggest the rose? Suggestion allows room for the viewer's imagination. By not sculpting a real rose, I prioritize the emotion and symbol of blooming rather than the botanical form. It is the movement of life that is honored here.

How are the "dew drops" represented? They are materialized by bronze beads precisely fused on the sculpture's lines of force. They capture ambient light to give the illusion of morning dew frozen on a structure that seems eternal.

In what way is this work a "solid base"? The skull, although made of openwork lace, offers a powerful visual and physical foundation. It serves as a base for the idea of life, showing that even on the traces of the past, new energy can flourish in complete serenity.

Is this a unique work? Absolutely. As with all my creations, the work is done without a mold using the dripping technique. The suggested shape of the flower and the mesh of the skull box are the result of a unique and unrepeatable creative moment.

How to maintain this sculpture? The steel and bronze are protected by an invisible professional varnish. To preserve the poetry of the work, a simple dusting with a soft-bristle brush is enough to clean the lace cavities without damaging the bronze finishes.
