Jeu de Plume: The lightness of a summer breath frozen in metal
With "Jeu de Plume," I sought to capture the intangible. This sculpture presents itself as a fan of delicate feathers, evoking the gentle warmth and caress of a summer breeze. By working steel and bronze into lace, I wanted to transform the rigidity of metal into a vibrant and airy material, capable of suggesting the movement of a light breeze lifting a precious down.
The work plays on a radiant structure where each "feather" is unique, shaped drop by drop to let light pass through. The bronze brings its golden and solar shades, enhancing this feeling of summer warmth. It is a piece from the Intimate range that invites daydreaming and serenity, a poetic object that seems to float in space while asserting its presence through the shine of its noble materials.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
What does this "fan of feathers" represent? It is a visual metaphor for softness and lightness. The fan shape symbolizes opening and unfolding, while the feather pattern evokes protection, freedom, and the delicacy of natural elements.
How do you achieve this "feather" look with metal? Thanks to the dripping technique (manual fusion), I apply the metal in a very stretched and fine way. This irregular and open mesh mimics the barbed structure of a feather, allowing the sculpture to maintain total transparency.
What metals are used to evoke "warmth"? I use a mix of steel for the structure and bronze for the finish. It is the bronze, with its warm tones and golden reflections, that gives the work this solar aura reminiscent of the light at the end of a summer day.
Is this a unique piece? Yes, absolutely. Each "Jeu de Plume" is an original creation. The fusion gesture is spontaneous, making the feather design and the distribution of bronze droplets impossible to reproduce identically from one piece to another.
How to maintain this aerial sculpture? The steel and bronze are protected by an invisible professional varnish. To preserve the delicacy of the lacework, simple regular dusting with a soft-bristle brush is recommended to reach the gaps between the feathers.
