With this female bust sculpture in metal lace, I wanted to bring forth a figure both luminous and earthly, a presence between sky and matter.
A figure between light and earth
In Belisama Lutchia, the female bust is not limited to a representation of the body. It embodies a broader presence, a figure oscillating between the energy of light and the deep anchoring of the earth.
The form is stable, grounded, almost rooted, but it does not close in. It opens, allowing something more subtle to flow. The body then becomes a meeting point between two dimensions: that of the ground, dense and tangible, and that of a more diffuse, almost invisible light.
This duality does not create opposition but balance. The sculpture does not choose; it unites.
Steel and brass: a material inhabited
Made from metal lace by drop-by-drop fusion, the sculpture combines steel and brass in a subtle dialogue. The steel builds the structure, providing the base, support, and a form of stability.
The brighter brass inhabits this structure like circulating energy. It does not impose itself; it appears, highlighting certain lines like a light brushing the surface.
This golden presence evokes warmth, an inner vibration, connected to the idea of a living earth. It refers not only to the material but to a force that inhabits it.
Light plays an essential role here. It glides over the brass, gets lost in the steel, creating a constant oscillation between revelation and restraint. The sculpture then becomes a passageway, where the visible and invisible coexist.
