Champagne Bottle 126-21: The Effervescence and Festive Spirit of the Post-War Years

With this sculpture, I wanted to capture the spirit of lightness and the joy of life that marked the post-war years. It is a celebration of regained elegance, where champagne becomes the symbol of reclaimed freedom and an eternal celebration. The slender silhouette of the bottle is here transcended by a lace of steel and bronze, evoking both the nobility of glass and the effervescence of the bubbles escaping from it.

The drip fusion technique creates a unique play of transparency: the bottle seems to dematerialize, leaving only the essential, an organic and airy structure. The bronze, delicately intertwined with the steel, brings a solar warmth that recalls the sparkle of glasses at grand receptions. This piece from the Intimate range is not just a decorative object; it is a vibrant tribute to optimism, a piece that invites you to savor the present moment with all the poetry of fused metal.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the inspiration for this bottle come from? It draws its inspiration from the aesthetics and euphoria of the post-war years (the 1950s), a time when champagne symbolized renewal and elegance. I sought to translate this festive energy through the lightness of the metal lace.

How is this lace sculpture made? I use the dripping technique, which consists of fusing drops of steel and bronze at very high temperatures. Without a prior mold, the material is "woven" in the air, making each lace pattern and each metal pour absolutely unique.

Is this a unique collectible piece? Yes, each bottle is an original signed work. Although the champagne bottle theme is recurrent in my work, the manual creation process ensures that no piece can be reproduced identically.

Is the work signed? Absolutely. The sculpture bears my signature (Philippe Buil) engraved or cast into the metal. It comes with a certificate of authenticity attesting to its uniqueness and French artisanal manufacture.

How to care for the bronze and steel? The metals are protected by a professional varnish to prevent any oxidation. Maintenance is limited to simple dusting with a soft brush or dry cloth to preserve the reflections and transparency of the lace.
