With this couple sculpture in bronze and steel, I wanted to represent the relationship between two beings through two different metals that come together.
A man and a woman united in the same sculpture
In Connect – Back to Back, two presences meet: a man and a woman. The two bodies do not face each other; they are joined back to back, like two paths that cross and support each other.
The masculine part is made of steel lace, dark and solid, while the feminine part appears in bronze lace, warmer and more luminous. This contrast creates a dialogue between two complementary energies.
The Connect series: a sculpture of connection
This work belongs to the Connect series, a series where several bust fragments are assembled to form a new identity. The idea is simple: our identity is built through the encounters and connections we create.
The sculpture is made of metal lace, created by melting steel or bronze drop by drop. This dripping technique allows for the creation of an openwork structure where light passes through the metal and reveals the shape of the body.
