With this bronze and steel female bust sculpture, I explore the idea of a fragmented body whose scattered elements come together to form a living unity.
A fragmented body that regains its unity
In Connect – The First, the female bust is not constructed as a solid, continuous form. Instead, it appears as a gathering of fragments, lines, and drops of metal that initially seem scattered.
This apparent disorder is intentional. It evokes how life is built: through the accumulation of experiences, encounters, and tensions. Gradually, these fragments find their place and reveal a coherent form. The sculpture then becomes the image of an identity in progress.
Metal lace: between chaos and harmony
The sculpture's structure is made of metal lace, created by melting bronze and steel drop by drop. This process forms an organic network where each element seems independent while contributing to the whole.
Steel provides structure and stability, while bronze introduces a warmer, more sensitive presence. Together, these two metals create a fragile balance between disorder and harmony, as if the material itself is trying to come together to form a human presence.
