Vanity Flame: The Breath of Redemption at the Heart of Metal
With this work, I wanted to stage the eternal dialogue between finitude and elevation. "Vanity Flame" features a skull sculpted in steel lace, carried by a moving metallic flame. Bronze lines run through the whole, flowing from the flame to the vanity—or perhaps it’s the other way around? This upward and downward movement symbolizes the passage between the lessons of past experiences and the hope for redemption.
The fire here is not destructive but purifying. It becomes the spiritual foundation that supports thought. The dripping technique makes this flame airy and vibrant, while the bronze adds a precious warmth to the skull’s features. It is a piece from the Intimate collection that invites reflection on the transformation of the soul, a work where the rigor of steel yields to the poetry of a movement rising toward the light.
