Mist Rabbit: The poetry of emptiness
Made using metal lace, Mist Rabbit is a sculpture in steel and bronze that plays with light, voids, and the roughness of the material. The shape of the rabbit seems to emerge from a mineral mist, both fragile and strong. The perforations, uneven reliefs, and the contrast between the dark steel and the warm shades of bronze give the work an almost living quality, as if the sculpture had been shaped by time.
In my sculptures, the animal is never incidental: it becomes symbol, presence, trace. Mist Rabbit evokes discretion, watchfulness, and the suspended moment, inviting the gaze to circle around the piece to discover its many faces.
Metal lace: a unique technique
The sculpture is made using the metal lace technique. By fusing steel and bronze drop by drop, I created a "Mist Rabbit" that seems to materialize before our eyes. The openwork texture lets light pass through, giving this animal a paradoxical lightness despite the density of the metals used.
