With this male torso sculpture in metal lace and gold leaf, I wanted to evoke azur, an open space between sky, light, and elevation.
A torso turned toward space
In Pavarti Azur, the male torso is not limited to a physical presence. It opens, it breathes, it seems oriented toward something larger. The form is not closed in on itself; it lets air and light circulate, like a body in dialogue with space.
Azur here is not a color but a sensation. That of a horizon, an expanding sky, a moment suspended between night and day. The torso becomes a passage point, a surface that captures and lets escape something greater than itself.
Gold as the appearance of the sun
Made of steel using the metal lace technique, the sculpture is then covered with 24-carat gold leaf. This precious material does not simply enrich the surface; it acts as a source of light.
The gold immediately catches the eye. It evokes sunrise, that moment when light gradually appears, when everything is revealed without yet being fully defined. On the openwork structure, it does not impose itself uniformly: it emerges, it passes through, it illuminates.
The metal lace lets this light pass through, fragments it, diffuses it. The whole creates a soft, almost airy vibration. The torso is no longer just a shape; it becomes a luminous presence, between matter and space.
