With this sculpture of a female bustier in black metal lace and gold leaves, I wanted to bring light out of darkness, like an inner illumination.
A form emerging from the shadow
In Pavarti Éclaircissement, the female body appears from a dark depth. The black steel absorbs the light, creating a dense, almost silent background in which the form is built.
The bustier is not immediately given. It reveals itself gradually, like an apparition. The black establishes a distance, a mystery, an undefined zone where the gaze must adapt. The sculpture does not offer itself at once; it is discovered.
This darkness is not empty; it is full. It carries the form, making it even more present.
Gold as revelation
On this dark base, the gold leaves create an immediate break. They capture the light, reflect it, and make certain areas of the body emerge with intensity.
The gold does not cover the sculpture; it appears in fragments. It acts like a revelation, almost like a flash in the night. Where the black holds back, the gold frees.
This contrast creates a strong tension between: shadow and light, withdrawal and appearance, mystery and revelation.
The metal lace, obtained by drop-by-drop fusion, lets light pass between these two states. It does not cut, it connects. The sculpture then becomes a passage, a moment where something is revealed without ever being fully delivered.
The whole creates a work that is both dense and luminous, where the material does not oppose but dialogues, creating a balance between depth and brilliance.
