With this sculpture of a female body in metal and wood, I wanted to create a dialogue between raw material and living material, like an inner storm in motion.
A body caught in a storm movement
In Pavarti Tempête, the female body is not fixed. It seems to be crossed by an energy, as if carried in an invisible movement. The lines unfold, fragment, and recombine, giving a sense of tension and transformation.
The sculpture evokes an inner storm: something powerful yet contained, where the body becomes the place of passage, of controlled imbalance. This dynamic gives the piece a vibrant, almost unstable presence, as if it could evolve depending on the viewer.
Wood and metal: a meeting of two worlds
The sculpture combines metal lace (steel) with the presence of wood, creating a strong contrast between two opposing but complementary materials. The metal, worked by drip fusion, provides structure, tension, and precision.
Wood, an organic and living material, introduces warmth and natural irregularity. It grounds the sculpture in something more earthly, more instinctive. This dialogue between metal and wood evokes a deep relationship between humans and nature, between construction and spontaneity.
Light plays between these two materials, revealing in turn the rigidity of the metal and the softness of the wood. The sculpture thus becomes a meeting space where opposites coexist without canceling each other out.
