Orchid Painting: The Delicacy of Life Engraved in Steel
With this sculptural painting, I wanted to capture the ephemeral beauty of the orchid, a true symbol of delicate and precious life. Steel, a raw and robust material, is transformed here into an airy flower thanks to an extremely fine metal lacework. To enhance this creation, I used pastel-toned inks that gently color the material, evoking the fragility of a petal and the poetry of nature.
The work plays on a striking contrast between the strength of the metal structure and the tenderness of the chromatic shades. The orchid seems to bloom directly on the surface of the painting, its organic lines intertwining in an openwork mesh that lets light pass through. It is a piece from the Intimate range that brings a touch of serenity and elegance to your interior, a celebration of life expressed in its most refined and vulnerable form.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
How are the colors applied to the steel? The pastel tones are achieved using specific inks applied directly to the steel lace. This process colors the metal while preserving its natural reflections and transparency, creating a visual effect that is both soft and vibrant.
How do I mount this sculptural painting on the wall? The painting is ready to be installed thanks to an invisible mounting system located on the back. This device holds the artwork slightly away from the wall, which enhances the relief of the flower and creates a play of soft shadows around the orchid.
Is this a unique piece? Yes, absolutely. Each orchid is drawn and "woven" drop by drop with fused steel. Since the ink application is manual, the pastel shades vary from one piece to another, ensuring that your painting is an original creation with no equivalent.
Is the artwork signed? Yes, Philippe Buil's signature is directly applied on the painting. A certificate of authenticity accompanies the artwork, certifying its artisanal origin and French manufacture.
How do I care for the colors and metal? The entire artwork is protected by an invisible professional varnish that fixes the inks and preserves the steel from oxidation. A simple dusting with a feather duster or a very soft cloth is enough to maintain the brightness of the colors and the delicacy of the lacework.
