With this metal face sculpture, I wanted to capture the fragile moment when emotion surfaces, just before a tear falls.
A face between appearance and disappearance
In Une larme 24-22, the face is not fully defined. It seems to emerge from the material, like a presence forming or fading away. The features are suggested rather than described, allowing for an intimate reading.
The tear is not just a detail: it becomes the tension point of the entire sculpture. It condenses the emotion, without excess, into a simple and silent form. The face remains dignified, almost still, as if suspended in an inner moment.
Metal lace: an emotion through the material
The sculpture is made of metal lace, a technique achieved by dripping steel and bronze . This openwork structure creates a face that is never completely solid nor completely absent.
The voids play an essential role: they let light through and give the sculpture a feeling of fragility. The steel provides a stable structure, while the bronze radiates a more sensitive warmth. Together, they convey an emotion flowing through the material, like a breath.
