"With this sculpture, I wanted to capture the essence of a pure emotion: a face with an angelic nature where the melancholy of a tear transforms into a botanical bloom, like the essential breath of metal."
An angelic face: between presence and mystery
In Une Larme, the face is not simply a portrait, it is an apparition. I sought to sculpt an ambivalent expression, imbued with an almost divine serenity and profound humanity. This face seems suspended between two worlds, capturing that moment of vulnerability where emotion becomes a force.
The verticality of the work and the delicacy of the features evoke Renaissance statues or the angelic figures of cathedrals, reinterpreted by the modernity of steel. It is an ode to the purity of lines, an invitation to slow down to observe what, in the gaze or the contour of a cheek, connects us to the invisible.
Bronze in foliage: the breathing material
The major originality of this piece lies in the metamorphosis of the metal. Here, the bronze does not merely highlight the features: it blossoms into organic foliage shapes, creating a true botanical "breath" on the steel structure. The tear does not flow, it sprouts.
The drop-by-drop casting technique allows a transition from the precision of the face to the wild freedom of the bronze leaves. This contrast between the rigidity of steel and the apparent suppleness of the golden foliage symbolizes the unbreakable bond between man and nature. Light plays with the gaps of this botanical lace, casting moving shadows that give the sculpture its own life, a vegetal breath frozen in eternity.

Learn more about the sculpture « Une Larme »
What is the symbolism of the tear in this sculpture? The tear here is not a symbol of sadness, but of transformation. It represents the point of contact between inner emotion and the outside world, transforming into foliage to symbolize resilience and life.
Why do you speak of an "angelic nature" for this face? The face has a symmetry and softness that tend toward the ideal. Its expression is deliberately ambivalent to allow each person to project their own emotions onto it: peace, contemplation, or hope.
How is the bronze foliage made? The bronze is projected and fused drop by drop to create organic shapes reminiscent of leaves or buds. This artisanal technique gives a lively and irregular appearance that contrasts with the smoother structure of the face.
How does light enhance this work? Thanks to its openwork structure and bronze elements, the sculpture captures light to reflect it. Placed facing a light source, it reveals the full complexity of its "breathing mesh" and the shine of its golden details.
Is this a unique creation? Yes, absolutely. Each face and each vegetal element is hand-shaped in my workshop. No reproduction is identical, making each sculpture an exclusive art piece, signed and certified.
